Firm Overview

THE EXPERIENCE OF THOUSANDS OF CASES TRIED

For almost twenty years I have fought the fights of my clients against the overwhelming and intimidating resources of the government, both state and federal. Prior to going into private practice, I served as the Deputy Public Defender for the City of Petersburg. Since starting my career as a lawyer, I have tried literally hundreds of felony cases and thousands of traffic and misdemeanor cases, both by bench trial and by jury trial.

My trial experience ranges from the most complex multi-defendant federal drug conspiracies and state murder trials to simple speeding tickets. My experience also includes numerous prosecutions and defenses of fault divorces, custody and support litigation issues, personal injury, and federal civil rights cases.

I have practiced before the Supreme Court of Virginia, Court of Appeals of Virginia, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, and Circuit and District Courts in the Commonwealth from Arlington to Virginia Beach and nearly everywhere in between.

My practice is primarily in the field of criminal defensetraffic violations, and DUI / DWI, but I eagerly accept family law litigation, personal injury, and civil rights cases where strong and effective trial advocacy is needed. I believe that all cases, no matter how small, deserve and receive the same attention. If your matter is one that requires an aggressive trial lawyer and not a "desk jockey,", I strongly encourage you to contact me. I practice my profession in the courtroom, not in the office.
